Supporting efforts towards interoperability and safety on EU railways to:

  • define the minimum of one foreign Language competencies that should be a standard requirement for railway employees involved in international train traffic;
  • Develop tools for learning and assessment of this standartised minimum of professional railway language.

     Target groups:

  • Train drivers, train driver assistants, dispatchers;
  • Trainers of railway employees (foreign language teachers), teachers of English.

     Outputs:

  • Glossary reflecting the minimum vocabulary necessary for train drivers, dispatchers involved in cross-border traffic;
  • ELP – European Language Portfolio for railway employees- and assessment tool;
  • Training module with learning materials.
